Risk Management Incorporated (RMI), an Acton, Massachusetts-based health and environmental consulting company, has
been awarded additional contracts with a number of independent dry cleaners
across Eastern Massachusetts to evaluate intrusion of fugitive vapors from dry
cleaning operations into nearby buildings and residences to determine if
Imminent Hazards are being posed to human health under the Massachusetts
Contingency Plan by the "Indoor Air Vapor Intrusion Pathway." Based
on the findings, RMI will be working with a number of engineering firms to reduce
fugitive vapor emissions to the environment and to remediate any Imminent
Hazards identified. As part of this work, RMI will be evaluating a number
of alternative remedial technologies to achieve an MCP-compliant closure of
each incident that is
protective of human health, public welfare, safety and the environment.
RMI specializes in the analysis, evaluation, and validation of
laboratory data for chlorinated solvents associated with
current and historical commercial dry cleaning activities, in order to evaluate cumulative risk to human
health and the environment from potential exposures to these chemicals in
accordance with the requirements of U.S. EPA CERCLA, RCRA Title D, and
Massachusetts regulatory plans, including the Massachusetts Contingency Plan,
and to develop state-of the-art remedial alternatives and monitoring systems to
manage and mitigate these risks.

(RMI), an Acton, Massachusetts-based health and environmental consulting
company, has been awarded two separate contracts to develop risk-based site closure
strategies to allow development of a former NPL site in Plymouth and an
MCP site in East Boston, Massachusetts, both for commercial use by private
developers. As part of the risk assessment, RMI will be working on
the MCP project with Engineering & Management Services, Inc., Rochester, MA to
evaluate the impact of marine dredge spoils on "local soil conditions" along the
Boston Harbor waterfront.
RMI specializes in the
analysis, evaluation and validation of laboratory data for petroleum
contaminants, metals, chlorinated solvents, and PAHs associated with coal and
coal ash deposits, in order to evaluate cumulative risk to human health and the
environment from potential exposures to these chemicals at MCP and former NPL sites in
accordance with the requirements of U.S. EPA CERCLA, RCRA Title D, and
Massachusetts regulatory plans, including the Massachusetts Contingency Plan.
