Do you Accept Medical Insurances?

RMI accepts all "Blue Cross Blue Shield," "Tufts," "Harvard Pilgrim," "Passport from UnitedHealthcare and Harvard Pilgrim Health" health care insurances, and is a Medicare provider for the diagnoses of diabetes and kidney disease.  Hospice patients with Care Alternatives, Inc. are also accepted.  If you are not covered under these insurance policies, we will provide you with a “super bill” that you can submit to your carrier, along with your physician’s referral and applicable diagnosis, which may enable you to be reimbursed for the cost of RMI’s services.

What Methods of Payment do you Accept?

RMI accepts personal checks and cash. If you are a Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim or United Healthcare member, your co-payment will be collected at the end of your appointment. Medicare recipients will be billed for any co-payment due after Medicare is billed by RMI. For all others, payment in full is expected at the time of your visit.

Do you Make House Calls?

RMI will make visits to your home (whether it is a private residence, nursing home, or assisted living facility) if you are handicapped or too ill to travel. In this situation, RMI provides individual counseling to those who reside in the towns of Acton, Concord, Lexington, Littleton, Maynard, and Westford, MA.

What if it is too difficult for me to keep food/activity/symptom records prior to my appointment? Will you still agree to see me?

Of course…..life happens! Assessment of your food records is purely for your benefit. It enables us to more accurately take a snapshot of your current lifestyle and to demonstrate to you graphically areas in which you are doing well or could improve. We are not the food police; you are not judged or reprimanded for making “incorrect” decisions. RMI serves as your personal coach to help you identify strengths and weaknesses in your game plan and offers you motivation and support to enact and maintain changes that will improve your health. It is a truly collaborative process.

If our firm contracts with RMI to provide a lecture or seminar, do you add a percentage to your travel expenses for overhead?

No, RMI bills for actual costs only. You will be billed for providing the service (fee depends on length of presentation) and will be invoiced for the actual cost of materials and travel.
